This project was made during the time of social distancing in the United States. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player has custom pattern slots which they can fill with their own designs. Using an animal crossing converter app, I was able to take my real photos and transfer them to my game. From there, I designed my in-game home to resemble a modern gallery, with each room being its own theme. "Primary," "We're Closed," and "Bumper Sticker Study" were open to the public for 3 hours on Tuesday, May 12, and photos at the bottom of the page are a record of the event.
This was inteded to be an experiment in the sharing of art over non-traditional platforms, and I plan to hold bi-monthly openings with rotating pieces while social distancing guidelines are still in effect. All photos used in the event are my own.
